Create and manage the rooms and room classifications (if enabled) that will be offered at the property. 

Begin by selecting to create a new room type 

Edit Room Type

General Setup 

Active: Activate to enable the room for sale 

Code: The code selected should match what is used in the PMS (Property Management System) Specifically, if an interface is enabled between the two systems this is the code used to map the two systems 

Classification: If room classifications are enabled, select the classification to apply to the room type 

General room type code: For properties utilizing GDS connectivity, not required 

Virtual Room: If Virtual Room = Yes, select the parent room from the drop-down menu. This room will share inventory with the parent room but can be priced, restricted, and sold independently 

Max n. of rooms: Total rooms of this type on the property. If a PMS interface is enabled, VB (Vertical Booking) will not accept inventory messages with a number greater than the max n. of rooms. This can also be used in advanced occupancy management to determine the total occupancy level of the property 

Min Rate: The minimum rate that should ever be set for this room type. If a PMS interface is enabled, VB will not accept a rate message that includes a price lower than the rate set in this field. If prices are entered directly in the VB system, a warning message will display and prevent a price below this from being loaded for the selected room type. 

Occupancy 

Max bed spaces: The maximum number of spaces included in the room, for example, a room with only 1 king bed would have 2 bed spaces 

Max n. extra beds: The maximum number of “rollaway” beds that can be added to the room 

Max n. extra cribs: The maximum number of baby cribs that can be added to the room 

Max n. of people: The maximum number of people, including all bed spaces, cribs, and rollaway beds that can be in the room 

Min n. of people per room: The minimum number of people required for the room to be available to make a reservation

Attention! This image must be exactly 240 x 150, and jpeg is the only accepted format.

This page will return: 

Name: The name of the photo, should be loaded for use in ordering and assigning to galleries 

Category: An option to select existing categories from a drop-down will appear after the first category has been created. Alternatively, a new category can be created by inserting a new category name in the space below “or new” 

Load images: Accepted file types are jpeg and png files, it is not necessary to resize photos to load them into this section. 

Slider tool: Adjust the zoom on the image once loaded. 

The page will refresh once a new image has been loaded displaying all existing directories: 

Select any folder to expand and view loaded images (by name) 

Choose to associate with the room type (the room chosen to enter the image-loading process) 

To view/modify existing images linked to the room gallery select  

The system will allow a new image to be loaded to replace the one selected, or the image currently loaded can be viewed by selecting:

Select the radio button next to the flag corresponding with the language and the text entry boxes will expand: 

Name: Name of the room, shown throughout the system and on the booking pages 

Short Description: Initial description shown on the booking pages before expanding the information 

Long Description: The second description is shown on the booking pages after expanding the information 

Room/Apt features 

Select options to be shown on the group booking page and in the Vertical Booking CRO. The “No Smoking” icon is shown next to the room name during the booking process 

Dynamic package – Bookable services/treatments 

Remove services that should not be offered with this room type during the booking process by unchecking the box (default is all selected).
