Steps for Tripadvisor Webservice Activation with Vertical Booking

  • Hotelier will check on TA back office for the opportunity to connect with Instant Booking Interface.

  • VB team will activate the channel and instruct the property to select the products that should be sold on this channel by accessing the Direct Channels section in the VB extranet.

  • The hotel will complete the signup procedure on TripAdvisor’s side and verify that the information received through the interface is correct.

Below are the steps required by the Hotel and Vertical Booking to proceed with this connection:

1. (Hotel)

The hotel should access the Tripadvisor back office and check if he/she can activate the interface with Vertical Booking, if it's not the case very likely the hotel is not present in the inventory file because some required information is missing inside of the Vertical Booking extranet. The mandatory information for a hotel to be listed in the inventory file includes:

  • website url
  • city
  • postal code
  • country
  • phone
  • address

The hotel can check/correct these details in the property detail section of the Vertical Booking Extranet.

2. (Vertical Booking)

Once step 1 is complete in Vertical Booking, the hotel should inform VB Support. Vertical Booking will enable the Tripadvisor WebService in the VB extranet.

3. (Hotel)

Vertical Booking will confirm that they have completed step 2, and the hotel will select the public products to be sold in the Channel Manager > Direct Channels > IDS (WebService) section of the VB extranet.

4. (Hotel)

After Step 3 has been completed, the hotel can now check that updates are appearing correctly in Tripadvisor.
